Boracay Island is located in the Philippines about 315kms south of the country's capital of Manila, a journey which takes less than an hour by plane. Boracay is a great destination for couples or families. There are so many Boracay activities from the beautiful white sand beaches to the restaurants and exciting night life, there is something in Boracay to suit everyone.

Getting to Boracay
The quickest way to arrive in Boracay is by
plane, and the closest airport to Boracay is located in the small town of
Caticlan on the mainland. Manila's domestic airport provides regular flights to
Caticlan, but many flights listing Boracay as their destination actually fly to
Kalibo, a town with a larger airport than Caticlan. Visitors arriving in Kalibo
must then take a 90 minute bus ride to Caticlan before reaching their final
destination of Boracay. Caticlan airport is only a five minute drive away from
Caticlan jetty port, where outrigger boats and a new fastcraft depart for
Boracay every ten minutes or so.
Boracay Accommodation
There is a large choice of accommodation available on Boracay island, varying from simple nipa huts to the top suites at the recently opened Shangri La. One of the best places to stay in Boracay is at 7Stones Apartments. This is a beach front luxury apartment complex located right on Bulabog Beach Boracay. Bulabog Beach is the quieter side of Boracay, yet only five minutes walk from D'Mall Boracay's shopping centre, and less than ten minutes walk from White Beach.

White Beach Boracay
White Beach Boracay is a four kilometre stretch of beautiful soft white sand. At the north end of the beach, the sand is soft like talcum powder. The waters are calm and shallow making it a safe place to swim, even for children. This is the beach that made Boracay famous, and it is now lined from one end to the other with resorts, restaurants and boutiques. Walk along the sandy boardwalk and pick your choice of restaurant which come in every cuisine imaginable and are very reasonably priced.

Puka
Beach is located where Boracay's main road ends at the island's northern tip.
This is a pretty beach and is where many of the worlds puka shells have come
from. There are a couple of small restaurants and stalls here. Balinghai Beach is
tiny quiet Boracay
beach located north of Diniwid Beach which features snorkeling, swimming, and a
clifftop restaurant offering unforgettable views.

Boracay has over 25 scuba diving sites ranging from beginner to advanced level, and is home to 20 dive centres which include equipment rental as part of their very affordable prices.

About five minutes walk from 7Stones Boracay is D'Mall
Shopping Center which is actually an outdoor boardwalk filled with colourful
boutiques and a range of restaurants. D'Mall stretches between the main road and
White Beach.
Souvenir t-shirts, swimwear, sarongs, hats, local jewellery, flip flops, beauty
salons, supermarket, deli, ...almost
anything you need can be found here. They even have a dentist! D Mall is ideally
located between the main road and White Beach.
There are several shops in the Plazoleta selling native instruments and crafts. You can buy bongo drums of all different sizes, flutes, pan pipes and rain-sticks, and if you are lucky, the musicians will be around to give you a demonstration. Aside from the beautifully crafted instruments, you can buy hand made leather bags, bamboo lightshades inset with coloured glass, unusual jewellery, windchimes, and many other treasures.
One of the most visited and popular shopping places in the island, the Boracay Tourist Center features several souvenir shops that offer affordable keepsakes like souvenir shirts, chimes and key chains. In addition to these shops, the place has a mini mart where travelers can buy basic commodities. Other services offered at the tourist center are private postal services, travel and tours as well as money transfer. Moreover, the place has a photo shop where travelers can develop their photographs. Foreigners can also find currency exchange at the site.
D'Talipapa, literally "small market" is where you can find lots of small shops and stalls selling handicrafts, t-shirts etc. in narrow lanes. There is also a wet market here with local restaurants at the side where they will cook the meat or seafood you have just bought at the market for a reasonable fee.
There are numerous small shops along the boardwalk on White Beach selling sarongs, beach wear, hats, woven bags etc, and some small vendors selling an array of hand made jewellery many made from shells, coral and semi precious stones, all for very reasonable prices.
Other Boracay activities
Renting scooters or motorbikes, horseback riding, and boat tours aboard outrigger sailboats known as paraws are all ideal ways to explore the entire island of Boracay. The perfect way to relax after a long day is a massage, which you can enjoy in the privacy of your room, in a Boracay spa, or even on the beach.
